After learning how to expose film in the National Geographic Photography Field Guide I shot some stuff over the summer. My excitement over the process lead to a career in making films and making pictures.

Scott’s photographic career began in the spring of 2004 when he found his father’s Nikkormat still film camera. He taught himself to expose film and started to randomly shoot objects, people and places. Scott quickly discovered that he had a photojournalistic approach to the craft and preferred to shoot with natural light. His love of photographic story telling quickly gained momentum and 2 years later he produced his first film; Photosynthesis. Scott cast his father’s camera as the lead character in this 5 minute quirky stop-motion animated short and found the camera so easy to direct that they reunited in 2008 to make Midnight Matinee.
